Chief Directorate: Spatial Planning & Information, Department of Land Affairs, Eastern Cape, South Africa (DLA), telah mensponsori sebuah serial tutorial GIS yang disebut dengan Introduction to GIS yang menggunakan Quantum GIS sebagai softwarenya. Tutorial Quantum GIS tersebut tersedia dalam format PDF dan juga video berformat .MOV. Sebelumnya saya pernah memposting eBook Desktop GIS: Mapping the Planet with Open Source Tools dimana di dalamnya termasuk diantaranya membahas tentang penggunaan Quantum GIS.
Beberapa topik yang tersedia dalam tutorial Quantum GIS tersebut diantaranya adalah :

Quantum GIS adalah software GIS Open Source yang tersedia untuk Windows, Linux dan Mac OS X. DLA juga menawarkan Quantum GIS DLA Edition dimana di dalam installernya sudah termasuk sample data Eastern Cape dan South Africa yang dipergunakan dalam tutorial tesebut. Quantum GIS sendiri saat ini tersedia untuk versi Windows installer yang stabil 1.2.0-1.
