Portable GIS: GIS dalam USB Flash Disk

usb stickBerikut adalah program GIS yang bisa di jalankan langsung dari USB Flash Disk. Disebut sebagai Portable GIS yang berjalan di lingkungan Windows. Program GIS portable ini terdiri dari beberapa software GIS Open Source yang running tanpa instalasi terlebih dahulu.


Terus terang saya belum mendownload dan mencobanya, mengingat besarnya file yang 460 MB. Itu berarti saya juga harus menyiapkan space di USB Flash Disk untuk menampung seluruh file tersebut. Sementara ini di USB Flash Disk saya sudah menggunakan beberapa software portable diantaranya Thunderbird, Firefox, Notepad++ dari Portableapps.com dan Opera 9.5 USB serta beberapa lainnya.

Jika Anda berminat mendownload, berikut adalah kumpulan software yang disertakan :

  • Desktop GIS packages GRASS (windows native version 6.3: does not need cygwin), QGIS (version 0.10 with GRASS plugin) and gvSIG (version 1.1),
  • FWTools (GDAL and OGR toolkit, version 2.10)
  • XAMPPlite (Apache2/MySQL5/Php5),
  • PostgreSQL (version 8.2)/Postgis (version 1.1),
  • Mapserver, OpenLayers, Tilecache, Featureserver, and Geoserver web applications.
