Install ArcGIS di Mac OS X

Install ArcGIS 9.2 sudah ada solusinya, bahkan ada versi kedua untuk cara install ArcGIS ini. Cara install pertama yang lebih dulu diposting merupakan solusi untuk ArcGIS original dengan dongle, sedangkan cara kedua adalah untuk versi ArcGIS versi crack dengan memanfaatkan file license.lic dan ESRIFloat.reg. Lalu bagaimana cara install ArcGIS di Mac OS X ?


Run Windows on your Mac!Saya bukan pengguna Mac OS X (a.k.a Leopard), juga tidak begitu paham tentang Mac OS X yang telah rilis versi terbarunya itu. Namun blogwalking saya menemukan tautan sebuah blog yang menggambarkan install ArcGIS pada Mac OS X. Anda bisa menuju pada link berikut http://spanring.eu/blog/2006/07/02/arcgis-on-mac-os-x-2/.

Menurut gambaran yang terdapat di blog tersebut, si empunya blog yaitu Christian menginstall ArcGIS menggunakan Virtualization tool, seperti VMWare atau Virtual PC untuk Windows. Virtualization tool untuk Mac OS X yang dimaksud adalah BootCamp dan Parallels Desktop . Bootcamp sudah include bersama dengan Leopard, sementara Parallels Desktop merupakan utility untuk Mac yang untuk menggunakannya harus ditebus dengan dollar.

BootCamp sebenarnya bisa dibilang bukan Virtualization Tool karena hanya memiliki kemampuan  menjalankan Windows saat booting ulang, sementara Parallels Desktop bisa menjalankan Windows, Linux dan OS lainnya tanpa harus restart terlebih dahulu, persis seperti kerja VMWare atau Virtual PC.

ArcGIS ternyata sampai saat ini memang belum support untuk Mac OS X bahkan untuk versi terbarunya ArcGIS 9.3

* Windows Vista SP1 Ultimate, Enterprise, and Business
* Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition
