Citra Satelit Pasca Gempa di Haiti

Google yang bekerja sama dengan GeoEye mengumumkan bahwa citra satelit pasca gempa Haiti tersedia dan bisa di download dalam format KML. Anda bisa membukanya di Google Earth sebagai layer.
Tampak seperti gambar diatas dimana stadion dijadikan sebagai camp pengungsi korban gempa.
Selain di Google Earth, Anda juga bisa melihatnya di Google Maps. Google sendiri berencana untuk mengupdate image tersebut dimana pada saatnya nanti update tersebut tersedia, maka secara otomatis akan mengupdate file KML tersebut.
Saya sendiri berharap Google melakukan hal yang sama setiap kali terjadi bencana dimanapun, karena citra satelit pasca bencana seperti ini sangat dibutuhkan para relawan yang membantu menemukan korban dan kebutuhan tanggap darurat lainnya, seperti yang pernah dilakukan oleh tim inisiatif RSGISForum di Padang beberapa waktu yang lalu.
